After you complete your application for admission:

College Board Code is 5107, and ACT Code is 3084.

After receiving your information, your Admissions Counselor will usually contact you with an admissions decision and scholarship consideration within one week.

Requirments for AdmissionIn an effort to admit students who fit Chowan University, every application is reviewed on an individual basis with emphasis on the applicant’s high school grade point average, high school class rank, course curriculum, SAT 1 and/or ACT score(s), and extracurricular activities, including community service and church involvement. Recommendations and essays are not required.

Applicants should have successfully completed the following Minimum Course Requirements (MCR) with a minimum “C” average or higher:

  • English – 4 courses; College Preparatory required.
  • Mathematics – 3 courses; Algebra, Algebra II, and Geometry. Advanced Math beyond Geometry is recommended.
  • Science – 2 courses; 1 laboratory science is required. Physics is recommended.
  • History/Social Studies – 2 courses; 1 course in U.S. History is required.
  • Foreign Language – 1 course; 2 years of the same language is recommended.

Advanced Placement courses are strongly recommended. Score reports should be sent to the address below and credit is given on a course-by-course basis.

To enroll at Chowan University, a $100 advance tuition deposit is required to secure the student's place in scheduling. Housing assignments will not be made until the advance tuition deposit is received. Click here to pay your $100 deposit on-line with a credit card.

Prospective students can mail the completed applications for admissions, the application fee, official high school transcripts, SAT I or ACT scores, and the $100 advance tuition deposit to the following:
